Sierra Leone premier league call off midweek clashes – Two matches affected

The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) has postponed two matches indefinitely due to the busy schedule of the National Stadium.

The affected matches are the Old Edwardians clash with Area Best of Makeni which was earlier scheduled for March 23, and also the Central Parade clash against Nepean Stars scheduled for March 25.

According to John Konteh, a member of the PLB in charge of the communication and marketing, the two matches were put off given that the proposed venue will be occupied for a ceremony relating the 50th anniversary celebration.

“For this reason these two matches have been called off but the other fixtures in the provincial area will go ahead,” Konteh told Goal.com.

In a related development, Konteh had a discussion with members of the fourth estate relating towards the publicity of the league.

“On behalf of the board, I want to confess that you all have done outstanding job in promoting the league and we wish we will continue in this trend as you are key partners in the game,” he said.
