Khalifa Jabbie, Sierra Leonean young sensational midfielder with Norwegian Tippeligaen side Fredrikstad FK has said it came as a surprise when the news broke out to him that he was amongst the players called up by the Sierra Leone Swedish technician, for the Niger encounter in Niamey in the ongoing 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers March 27. Jabbie, 18 is a former player for local club FC Kallon and was spotted by Fredrikstad FK in Monrovia capital with the Sierra Leone U-23 side takes on their Liberian counterparts but was eliminated by Liberia U-23 on December 19th.
On his club’s official website, Jabbie was quoted as saying, “It was a surprise and great for me. It is the first time I will represent at senior level. I’ve played at U-23 national team. After I started playing for FFK, I have been in better shape. My first priority is to play for FFK and do a good figure.”
“Jabbie has performed well since he came to FFK, and it has had a great significance in relation to this outlet and for us as a club, it is very positive to have attractive players, and it shows that we are doing things right in terms of recruiting players and developing them, “says FFK Sport Chief Joacim Jonsson.
