Mohamed Salieu Jalloh, Senior Procurement Clerk of the National Power Authority (Bo/Kenema Power Services, BPKS), indicted for corruption.
The Senior Procurement Clerk of the National Power Authority Bo/ Kenema Power Services (BKPS) Mohamed Salieu Jalloh has on Thursday 10th March 2011 been indicted on a 3 (three) count charge under the Anti-Corruption Act of 2008.
Mr. Jalloh’s indictment includes the following offences; Misappropriation of public funds to the tune of Twenty three million one hundred and fifty six thousand Leones (Le 23,156,000.00) contrary to section 36(1), Abuse of Office contrary to section 42 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act and Abuse of position contrary to section 43 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008
The Accused person was arrested on the same day, and arraigned before the high Court of Bo presided over by Honourable Justice Aiah Daniel Konoyima.
The particulars of offence were read and the accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges. He was granted bail to the tune of Twenty five Million Leones (Le25,000,000) with one Surety to provide security in the form of real property of the same value.
Mr. Jalloh is represented by lawyer Joseph Amadu Esq. while the state is represented by Reginald Fynn Esq and Ady Macaulley Esq.
The matter was adjourned to Wednesday 23rd March 2011. This is the first corruption case to be tried in Bo since the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Commission regional office in Bo.
