Sierra Sport Donates to Leone Stars
Sierra Sport and Cultural Club, a young and dynamic Sierra Leonean group based in Berlin-Germany, has donated sport items to the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars.
The items, which include among others, footballs and outfits for the darling national team, were presented to His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, during his recent state visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Presenting the outfits and footballs to President Koroma, Sierra Sport Secretary General, Eddie Murphy, welcomed the APC leader and his entourage. He expressed complements on behalf of his organisation, to the successes and achievements made by the APC government under the leadership of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
He said, “We are extremely happy about the many developments that are taken place back home.” He attributed it to the setting up of a youth commission aimed at addressing problems facing youths in the country.”
Eddie further encouraged President Koroma, to accelerate efforts in improving the lives of people in Sierra Leone.
He pleaded for more youth empowerment programmes, through sport and cultural activities in the country. “Serious attention should be paid to sports and cultural activities. We believe it will improve the minds and physical being of the Sierra Leonean youths.”
While reaffirming his organisation’s support to the president Agenda for Change, the club’s scribe informed his audience about their independence JC fiesta, which will take place at the Family Kingdom, April 30 this year.
He said, as part of their contribution towards the country’s socio economic development, 50 percent of the proceeds would be allocated to support charity projects in Sierra Leone.
Eddie Murphy has called on all Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad to patronise their musical show.
