Soyie’s Case Thrown Away
SLPP Dr Soyie who until yesterday was an accused, walked out of Court No 1 having been acquitted and discharged.
The proceedings which lasted for about three months, at last reached its end shortly after Magistrate Conteh delivered judgment in favour of the accused.
Dr Soyie, in recent times, was before Magistrate Conteh to answer to two count charges of trespass and larceny of ten trips of sands allegedly owned by one Henry Tamba Komba Kpakoi.
After the careful gathering of testimonies of all six witnesses, Magistrate Conteh observed that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond all doubts, and so handed judgment, acquitting and discharging accused Dr. Soyie on all the charges.
Evidences forwarded by witnesses of the prosecution proved unsubstantiated and failed to incriminate the accused.
Much of what was delivered by the witnesses was all centered on hearsay evidences.
After the pronouncement of verdict, accused Dr. Soyie informed journalists that he was happy with Magistrate Conteh’s straight forward decision and will without doubt tell the world that justice has been seen to be done to him.
Asked whether he intends to sue for claims, Dr. Soyie turned down making any comment, but said “it is left with his legal team to decide.”
“I know it was meant to have my reputation tarnished. I am grateful to Magistrate Conteh for doing justice me,” Dr. Soyie said.
