The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) refers to a front page article on the Concord Times Newspaper dated 16th February 2011 titled “Staff Resentment over Recruitment Process at SLBC” as irresponsible journalism.
The article is erroneous and inciting as the editor made no attempt to cross check the information with the Management and Board of Trustees of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation – SLBC.
The Acting Editor of the Concord Times Newspaper Moses Kargbo was invited as guest to one of our programmes to elaborate on the issues raised, but he refused to come to our studios.
Mr. Kargbo stated in a telephone conversation that he acted upon a letter he received and categorically dismissed the idea of participating in any SLBC programme regarding the issues in the letter.
The SLBC Management frowns at such irresponsible and unprofessional behaviour displayed by a seasoned Newspaper like the Concord Times.
Management also wishes it to be known that it is investigating the matter.
