CADEM Holds Consultation on Sierra Rutile
The Community Advocacy and Development Movement (CADEM) Saturday at a press conference disclosed agreement reached at by indigenes of Mbaka Mogbewa Chief on issues concerning Sierra Rutile co-operate social ties.
CADEM Executive Director, Leslie Mboka, au-fait journalists of his organizations strives in the enhancement of community consideration for persons resident in Sierra Rutile.
He disclosed how his organization recently held a workshop on the education of community members on the livelihoods of host and relocated communities and environmental governance in Southern Sierra Leone.
That the workshop came out with a communiqué into which are issues bordering on the woeful neglect and contemptuous attitude of Sierra Rutile Company’s Affairs Manager, Dauda Kamara, deplorable housing facilities, refusal of jobs to qualify indigenes and hosts of other points.
The forum, he said, was attended by over 200 participants, who happened to be indigenes of the chiefdom.
He said also that community stakeholders voiced out their disgruntlement over Sierra Rutile’s inadequate requirements on the issue of relocation.
“Indigenes accused Sierra Rutile of not providing them good drinking water and finance to enable them pay for the education of dependants,” Mboka said.
He however informed the press of the deplorable conditions in which residents of Sierra Rutile live.
