SLPP, UDP fight over party logo
PMDC break away Mohamed Bangura has formed a new political party the United Democratic Party (UDP).
The UDP has disclosed its party logo, however, a ‘cotton tree’ seemed not to augur well with the membership of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), which on the grounds of similarity and voter education condemned UDP’s unrestraint.
It is observed that the hierarchies of the SLPP are opposed to UDM’s logo and have called on the authorities to intervene.
According to SLPP, UDP using the ‘cotton tree’ as their party logo is a ploy manipulated by the ruling APC to confuse the judgements of uninformed voters of their party, said the SLPP Chairman.
