Nigerian Coach Samson Siasia confirmed that an arrangement has been reached to play fellow West Africans, other reports stated that Siasia turn down Benin and Tanzania for Sierra Leone.

Siasia – I am disappointed that the Guatemala game has been cancelled; this is not good for us. However, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has told me that they have confirmed an arrangement to play Sierra Leone here in Nigeria.

Siasia told journalists in Nigeria that the game will be held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos at 7pm. The last time Sierra Leone met Super Eagles was in 2008 where both teams were fighting for a place in the 2010 World Cup and African Cup of Nations Cup qualifiers.

In the past few days much scepticism has been published in the Nigerian press as to whether the arranged friendly between Nigeria Super Eagles and Guatemala slated for February 9 would go ahead and now NFF Chief Media officer, Ademola Olajire has confirmed Nigeria’s much-maligned friendly game against Guatemala is officially off.
