Ports Authority hopeful
Sierra Leone Orange Confederation Cup representative, Ports Authority nicknamed ‘Water Front Boys’ can still reach the competition next round as they are hopeful after a narrow defeat in the Senegalese capital to opponent Toure Kunda, 2-1 the score line in the preliminary phase last Saturday at the Demba Diop Stadium. The result has shown a lot of work has to be down for the new boys Toure Kunda in the African Continental Orange Championship when they face Ports in their away fixtures in a fortnight.
The result does not jeopardise the Sierra Leone representative reaching the next stage, but they will have to prove they are capable, throughout the game in Freetown they have shown a capacity to react on home soil, however the result is still open for both sides to grab a qualification slot at the Freetown National Stadium.
Head Coach Christian Cole still believes he can turn things around with his squad, the Ports Team Manager Sanusie Savage told Sierra Express Media his side has shown a massive away threat to the host on their premises.
“We show evidence of our talent in the game and we can do more at home, we can implement a game plan to take care of recurrent errors of Defence in the first leg against Toure Kunda. And with our away goal we are strongly optimistic to reach the next stage of the competition,” he said.
