Brush: Jarrett and his team must improve
Sierra Leonean international Albert Jarret appears to have lost touch and mental strength in front of the goal and for many weeks running the Imps winger has been less active on the pitch with his City side and the player is now facing a goal draught, Lincoln fans recapped to Sierra Express Media.
A few weeks ago Jarret warned teammates that they must capitalise on their rivals’ slip-ups as the struggling Imps headed into a weekend crunch clash with Stockport in League Two.
With their fourth successive defeat Lincoln will be going into this weekend’s encounter at Edgeley Park’s 10,852 seater stadium in Stockport with a hope of turning things around.
In recent weeks the Imps have has a bad run. Their 2-1 defeat to Wycombe last weekend saw them slipping to the foot of the League two tables.
Lincoln City’s assistant manager Paul Brush says the Imps must improve and that the team has to bring in players with leadership qualities.
With only five points separating both sides, Brush pointed out that his side needs leaders. Brush told journalists: “We’ve known from the start that this team needs leaders, organisers and voices on the pitch, but they don’t come cheap.
“Mentally you have to hang in there and we have to have players that scrap and stand up and tough out games.”
Brush added: “This team is not used to winning and staying in front and our mentality has got to change.
“We have to get players with the strength of mind and the freshness to not think if they don’t get a result ‘never mind, there’s next week’ because we’ve got too many of those players at this club.”
