Ayegbeni leaving Everton for Leicester
In less than 24hours the Nigerian international player Yakubu Ayegbeni (in photo) nicknamed ‘The Yak’ will complete his loan move from Everton to the Championship side Leicester City until the end of season.
The 28 year-old striker who joined Everton in 2007 for a fee of £11.25 million on a five-year deal has struggled in recent years with Achilles and is now set to start working with former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Yakubu with 57 caps at international level with Nigeria scored 21 goals has only featured in eight games for the Everton this season.
But the player has a great record in the premiership; Yakubu scored his 100th goal in English football in a league game at West Bromwich Albion early in the 2008-09 seasons.
