The general public is hereby informed that Government has declared 1st January 2011 as the official launching day of Sierra Leone’s 50th Anniversary year.  On that day there will be a national parade in Freetown and all district headquarter towns involving the military, police, prisons, fire force and school children.

The national parade will begin at 8.00 a.m. with a route march led by the forces.  In Freetown, the Sierra Leone police and the Fire Force will lead the procession from the Brima Attouga Stadium in the east, while the RSLAF and Prisons will lead from the Sierra Leone Grammar School in the west.  The two processions will converge at the National Stadium for the formal launching ceremony.
