NRA Collector flees Police Net
A source has revealed that officials of the CID have unconditionally released on bail detained National Revenue Authority officials accused of embezzling hundreds of millions.
An NRA collector, Maada Soyie and two others fell into the nets of the police on allegations of embezzlement of monies to the tune of two hundred and more million Leones.
Sources say Amie Bayoh, who alongside Maada Soyie and Gondo was detained at the CID, has been exonerated and will take up office soon.
It has been told that the police will be writing the head of NRA to inform her of re-employment of the vindicated Amie Bayoh.
It could be recalled that Amie Bayoh, Gondo and Maada Soyie have had their stay at the CID, helping the police in their investigation of embezzlement of the sum of two hundred and more million Leones.
Inside police sources also informed this press that Amie Bayoh’s lawyer intends writing a letter to the head of the NRA, ordering her to admit his client to office.
Revelations connecting Maada Soyie and two others’ involvement caused the swift, but uncompromising raids of homes of all (suspects) to discover material facts as to the allegation.
Although the police have released all three suspects, it is revealed that they were behind bars for over 10 days – total contravention of the laws of Sierra Leone.
Credible information states that officials of the NRA have not been cooperating with officers investigating their personnel.
That several requests to have NRA officials feed the police with relevant document was made, but proved futile.
It has reached the ears of our ace reporter that categories of lawyers have expressed interest on the suspects and have tirelessly fast tracked their release.
Bail granted for all three suspects has been approved, but bail condition remained undisclosed.
