Hadji’s Apollon Bittersweet taste
Sierra Leonean Mustapha Bangura’s Apollonas side on Saturday 18th December in their match day 15 in the Martin Laiki 2010-11 season faced a bittersweet taste coming from behind to grab a point from the GSZ Stadium in AEK.
Their performance is still is not sealed in the best way, but they will be going into the Christmas holiday in fourth position, they are presently 17points adrift from league leaders APEOL.
Disappointment is the word because head Coach Andreas was hoping to send fans on holiday with victory away from home; however, a point from their away tie did not prevent the players to recognize the passion of their fans as they thank them with clapping after full time.
The victory did not come to Apollo, but it did not reduce the degree of satisfaction from manager Andreas Michaelides as he said these words to journalists:
“I’m very proud of our players. We proved that Apollo may be possible when all the other work properly. We had the best year we look at a difficult location and deserved more. We are returning with a bittersweet taste in Limassol, with a sweet for the image and bitter because we should have our luggage in the three-pointer. Thank you and our world for his presence and impeccable behaviour.
Merry Christmas to all and May the celebration bring better days, Good luck to him Kaanen and hope to meet again,”he said.
