Mohamed Bangura to form UDM party
The suspended Peoples Movement for Democratic Party (PMDC) chairman, Mohamed Bangura (in photo), is reportedly on the verge of forming a new political party.
It is disclosed that Mohamed Bangura will soon come out with a party he intends to name as the United Democratic Movement Party (UDMP).
It could be recalled that Mohamed used to be party chairman for the PMDC, but was suspended due to a misunderstanding between him and senior party members.
“The UDM party emulates Obama’s doctrine of ‘Yes We Can’ and will surely redeem Sierra Leoneans from the hands of unscrupulous politicians,” were the words of Mohamed.
The slogan ‘Yes We Can’ explains the vision of the UDM party and what it expects to give to society.
Although Mohamed fails to tell who will lead the party, sources say persons from the Diaspora have had interest in supporting the UDM come 2012.
The party, it is disclosed, has been formed, but will be launched at a latter date.
“We intend to make the difference and we will surely profess that in the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections,” Mohamed said.
He however told our reporter that the advent of the UDM party’s is to create awareness in minds of the youth on issues of party leadership.
