Lumley Accident Kills Soldier

A military vehicle Wednesday 15th accidentally landed in a ditch along Freetown Road Lumley consequentially leading to the death of a serving soldier.

Corporal Kamara, driver in control of the Land Rover vehicle with registration number 23SL32, fell into one of the ditches under construction by CSE Company as he drove along Freetown Road Lumley.

The incident which took place at ‘Dorty Box,’ unexpectedly cropped up due to heavy downpour of rain.

Eyewitness accounts say soldiers on board the vehicle made their way out shortly after it fell into the ditch.

It is reported that Corporal Kamara, who happened to have put on his seat belt prior to the accidental ditching, got himself strangled by the seat belt and as a result caused his death.

It could be recalled that government of Sierra Leone, few months past, contracted CSE Construction Company to do roads on streets along Lumley onto to Tokey.
