WAEC in Examination Scam

Amara Lahai, an examiner of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) was on Monday 6th frog matched to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for sale of examination scripts believed to be property of WAEC.

Revelations of Amara’s unwholesome conducts reached the ears of officials of the CID when one Charles Kabbah of Peacock Farm was found in possession of answer sheets for the scheduled private West African Senior Examination August – December 2010.

Charles, who was about receiving a hundred and fifty thousand leones, fell in the hands of the police shortly after a tip off was passed onto them.

It was revealed that one Auguster, who claimed to be a secondary school pupil, tactfully paid the sum of Le 150.000 to Amara and later alerted the police.

Findings have confirmed that Amara and two others have been arrested and are with the police helping them in their investigation.

In an interview with the head of WAEC, Mohamed Sappateh, he told our reporter that he will have no comment to make, but awaits police findings of the investigation.
