According to an inside source from the Stockholm side, the club is in financial crisis and it seems they will have to do without their star striker for the new season. The 21-year-old signed a 3.5 year contract for AIK July 19 this summer.
The club ended up 11th place in the table; all praises to the Sierra Leonean international for his outstanding performances to end the season and keep AIK in the Allsvenkan, he also won the domestic top scorer with six goals in thirteen matches and demonstrated high skills Allsvenkan.
Now the question is if he stays.
This according to report was the reason for the Scot Alex Miller to leave the club because he complained he did not have control of players who would come or stay.
AIK went back 5.7 million in the third quarter and have to make substantial savings – It is not clear how much the budget needs to be reduced. There may be changes in the squad and renegotiation of contracts, “said AIK’s sports director Jens Anderson.
Another report is saying the player needed a salary increase and yet there has been no increase in salary.
Interest in Europe
“We are negotiating, but things are a little more complicated. In terms of his accomplishments, he is underpaid, and right now I cannot say if he remains in the AIK or not. There are clubs interested in Europe but there have been no bids,” says agent Patrick Mork.
For Bangura, his own future is uncertain. “I have no idea what will happen. I am blind. But players will disappear,” he says. “Will you remain in the AIK?” “I do not know … I hope so, but I do not know,” Bangura said.
