Is it another Period of Darkness for the APC North America Branch? – Part II

Clichés are sometimes defined as overused idiomatic expressions, often dismissed as monotonous and lacking substance. However, certain clichés carry their meaning of significance regardless of when and where they are used. “If you live in a glass house, do not throw stones at other people;” or what about this other one – “Before you remove the speck from another man’s eye, try to remove the log from your own eye.” Perhaps the honorable Ambassador Bockarie Stevens should have thought about these expressions before dissolving the APC North America branch.  The supporters of any political organization are inherently the lifeblood and the soul of that organization. When you lose them, you have lost your reason to exist and survive. Material wealth and personal gains do not last a fortnight because they can easily vanish. Therefore, it is gospel true that “It does not profit a man if he gains the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul”. If you must know, Ambassador Stevens, the same is true with the APC as a political party. You are killing this powerful political organization in ways that I can describe as deliberate and ill motivated. You do not even seem to care about the consequences and ramifications of your brutal actions. Where is your heart Ambassador Stevens? Is it buried in your body only to seek your own personal interest at the detriment of the majority? You should consider yourself one of the luckiest members of President Koroma’s administrative team because you represent Sierra Leone not just in the United States but in two or three other countries in the region and you do not seem to care at all. Since you became Sierra Leone’s Ambassador in the US, how many projects or investors have you attracted into the struggling nation? You seem to have lost your focus and direction and therefore decided to delve into matters of the North America branch as a way of hiding your shortcomings.

What does the Ambassador hope to gain from people such as Leslie Allen, Abdul Berro Kamara and the so-called Rtd. Colonel Idriss Kamara whom he has decided to have by his side as his strong advisers? Leslie Allen is someone I thought I could trust and respect because of his credible role during the initial stages of the North America branch, but his actions during the last few months have eroded every trust and respect I have for him. To me, he is nothing but a pathological liar – one who, before he left for Freetown after the elections, lied to us that he was going to be appointed minister of Sports. Once he realized that his lies have become inconceivable, he decided to run back to the United States to wrench the Chairmanship from Osman Conteh. Abdul Berro Kamara is nothing but a disgrace to the academic community. This young man has reduced himself to nothing but an academic fool whose grammatical incongruities have become an embarrassment to the entire APC party; and he calls us Illiterates! He has made himself an organizational prostitute who is ready to lay his back for any bate and dime. Idriss Kamara is an educated fool who is full of conceit and subversive behaviors. If people like Bambay Kamara, Yayah Kanu, Kahota Dumbuya, Salami Coker etc… mean anything to you, then maybe it does ring a bell. Ironically, he was one of the Khaki boys (NPRC) who came out from the bush in 1992 and kicked the APC out of power because they claimed that the party was no good. I wonder why he is now all muscles, armour and shield trying to fight for something he had once dismissed as trash? Oh, now I remember – “A political born again” in the milk of attitudinal change! How laughable!

Why would the honorable Ambassador align with people like these? Well, the cliché “Show me your best friend and I’ll tell you who you are” holds true to this day! How unfortunate for a man from whom we should be sipping the juice of wisdom and strength for our survival as a political organization in the Diaspora. In the interest of sanity and progress for our nation, and on behalf of supporters of the APC in North America, I am calling for the resignation or the recall of Ambassador Stevens from his current diplomatic mission. He is probably fit for something else but certainly not for an ambassadorial position in the United States. I hope he is honorable enough to understand that he has outlived his usefulness and therefore does not have a place in North America any more!
