WIMSAL Celebrates 3yrs… Any Achievement?
Women in Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL), an organization formed on the platform of advocating rights of female journalists, will celebrate 3 years of existence this year.
WIMSAL’s membership is drawn from respective media institutions whose female staffs are practicing journalists.
The objectives of WIMSAL as indicated in its constitution explain how the welfare of female journalists stands tall.
The advent of celebrating WIMSAL’s 3 year anniversary has irritated minds of critical thinkers into questioning the organization’s achievements.
Of course, the present executive of WIMSAL over the years has had splits from within ranks resulting into division and marginalization of some members.
Members that granted interview with our reporter revealed how WIMSAL has too many detractors- some of whom boasts being the best.
“My straight forward assessment is: WIMSAL has nothing positive to tell after for its 3 years of existence. Yes, some of it members may make big noise, but will have nothing to tell at all,” words of one member.
It is revealed that founding members WIMSAL have left because they did not like the way top executive members run the association’s affairs.
For almost two years now, WIMSAL’s financial reports have not reached ears of its members as it is to be.
The issue of Kadijatu Savage is a clear citation of WIMSAL’s disrespects for it members.
Public’s opinion on WIMSAL questions the achievement it has made in 3 years of existence.
