The Press stretches the truth… Zlatan & Rodney
We saw earlier in September on the news and everywhere how Zlatan Ibrahimovic kicked Rodney Strasser in the back. The news had a field day with this misunderstanding.
In a more recent video uploaded by Maestr021 from Milan training, we can see that this was clearly just a joke. We can see that this is the Milan players just having fun. It seems they actually get along well and not as the media portrays it to be.
As a result of the exposure of the media, many fans of Milan and of football got the idea that Ibra is a jerk. It seems Ibra did take his actions too far. But how can we judge on a matter that we really don’t understand.
This was probably something that did not bother Strasser as we are made believed by the press. It would probably be one of those things that you have to be there to understand.
If we continue to view other videos of the Milan training sessions, we can see that is how the players get along with each other. In another video we can see Strasser joking around with the American Player Onyewu. Abate is the protagonist of a prank in another video and so on.
We have to understand, they are human beings and not robots. When a group of people have been together for a while, they start to feel comfortable with each other and thus these kinds of things happen.
It would be similar of that of a younger brother teasing his younger sibling, as an example. The phrase “You had to be there” comes in mind with the horsing around the Milan players do when together.
