HIV/Aids Widens Campaign For Blind People.

The National HIV/Aids Secretariat has launched a Braille sensitization campaign at the Atlantic Hall Brook Fields Freetown.

The introduction of Braille as a means of sensitization enables blind people get informed opinion on the effect and prevention a virulent disease such as HIV/Aids.

Dr. Brima Kargbo, referred to as ‘game maker’ and ‘master organizer’ is expected to officially make public, strategies formulated in the enrichment of the blind on issues of HIV/Aids prevention.

Reflections, as in records of reputable organizations the world over, tagged Sierra Leone’s HIV/Aids sensitization strategies as one of best in the sub region.

Recent surveys say Sierra Leone has a greater percentage of HIV/Aids awareness, and that its prevalence rate decreases every year.

To officials of National HIV/Aids Secretariat, the challenge as at now is on the blind and the visually impaired.

That Braille sensitization on HIV/Aids targets the blind and short sighted, who to society, are vulnerable and helpless.

The National Aids Secretariat in collaboration with Christian Aids will embark on the education of blind people on how to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids.
