President Koroma’s homecoming frightens Ministers

Almost three months now, speculations over imminent cabinet shake up filtered the front pages of newspapers in this country. (Photo: HE President Ernest Bai Koroma)

Such, also saw the advent of loud cry of the opposition SLPP, calling for a government of inclusion.

In what was seen as an unreasonable refusal to have underperforming Ministers sacked, come the truest of facts that President Koroma has jotted names of Ministers to be sacked and they will be announced soon.

Sources say President Koroma listed names of Ministers to be sacked days before his departure to New York to attend the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly meeting last week.

It could be recalled that in July this year, President Koroma summoned Cabinet Ministers to a meeting at State House to enable them to renew commitments as enshrined in performance contract they once signed shortly after APC’s take over in 2007.

The source also revealed how a good number of Ministers failed in performance and commitment and would surely make their exit come the reshuffle.

Facts as gathered say President Koroma intends to sack big Ministers and replace them with competent outsiders.

Ministers ticked for replacement are Alimamy Pepito of Works Ministry, David Carew of Trades Ministry, Haja Saudatu Sesay of Information Ministry and most shocking, Alpha Kanu of Mines and Mineral Ministry. This press is yet to confirm why the list of reshuffled Ministers was never announced past Friday as was expected.
