In the Bafana clash against the ‘Leone Stars’ in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Freetown Khune quickly discharged any suggestion of a draw despite the fact that they are playing away from home.

“A draw is not an alternative… the maximum points is our target. We are going there to play the 90 minutes and get the three points,” he said.

The Kaizer Chiefs goalie further said he is aiming to keep a clean sheet in the match. “We must get a clean sheet. We have not conceded in recent games against Ghana and Niger.”

He burst – “since I started playing for Bafana in 2007 I told myself that for me to keep my place in the team I must always try to keep a clean sheet,” said the Ventersdorp-born keeper.

On the other hand, Khune warned that Bafana must be clinical in front of the goal in order to bag the three points. “We created lots of opportunities against Niger and we didn’t score as much as we should have, but this is a different game. The Sierra Leone guys will come at us and they won’t defend like they did against Egypt in their first match. We must not defend… we must push forward and get the goals we need.

Meanwhile, Bafana’s other goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs couldn’t finish the morning training session due to dizziness. The team doctor Ephraim Nematswerani has however confirmed it as “nothing serious”.
