Leone Stars new boy Stromsgodset’s midfielder, Alfred Sankoh has been named in his side for Monday’s away match against Viking Stavanger in the Norwegian Tippeligaen division. Stromsgodset performed on Saturday last training session before taking on Viking Stavanger. Top player Joel Riddez is not in the squad due to three yellow cards. Krister Aunan is back in the squad, after he was out with an injury in the match against Rosenborg.
They are in sixth position in the league table with 37 points from 25 matches, a win for them will see them climbing the table to fourth position surpassing Odd Grenland and Aelesunds FK, that is if both sides fail to grab maximum points in their respective matches.
The 22 year old attacking midfielder, formerly from Ullern is desperate to wear his national side jersey in Freetown in front of his home fans in a must win match for Sierra Leone if they are to have any chance to make the 2012 Afcon tournament.
Sankoh was very instrumental when they drew to Rosenborg in their last league encounter and is hoping to take his club form to his national side this weekend, if he is given the chance to make the starting eleven by head coach Christian Cole.
Close sources informed Sierra Express Media that Sankoh will have to travel back to Norway immediately for his side away match on Saturday 16 October against Vålerenga, for another vital clash.
