419ers challenge Police IG
Sierra Express Media has received challengeable comments from 419ers calling the pronouncement of IG Munu in his endeavours to have fraudsters incarcerated or caged in cells at Central Prison as ‘big talk.’
“The new police boss should know his boys are for us and are at our disposal as and when needed. He will neither stop us nor debar the conduct of 419ing in society,” reiterated a group of con artists spotted at a bar around Youyi building.
Reflections must be drawn to the fact that scores of years past, the police, on a number of occasions, have been looked at as having dipping their hands into organized crime; aiding 419ers in the pursuit to fleece monies of honest individuals of society.
The archives at CID contain names of police officers partnering with hard core tricksters in the fleecing of hard earned monies of persons.
Just after Parliament approved Francis Munu as the newly appointed Police Inspector General, he was observed as sending a strong message to all that he will neither give solace to 419ers nor safe haven to officers aiding fraudsters. His message is said to have pinched the flesh of criminals and police conspirators.
A CID source has revealed how some senior police officers viewed IG Munu’s stance in the eradication of 419 activities as, ‘putting sand in their food.’
Findings say con artists have challengeably said the comments of the Police IG have no impact to their doings. Sources say some 419ers boast of having close dealings with IG Munu.
It could be recalled that fraudsters, on many occasions, have fleeced from accounts of individuals millions of US dollars, yet are left to flamboyantly roam the streets of Freetown untouched.
Sierra Express Media intends monitoring the conduct of the police on the issue of 419 investigations and will, on a constant basis, transmit its findings to readers.
