Le150 M goes astray – APC Honorable and others named

The sharp ogle of Sierra Express Media has burst into information implicating an APC Parliamentarian, SLRA Munda Rogers, Paramount Chief Bai Farama Bubu Ngbak, Chairman and Deputy Chairman Kambia District Council, in the sharing of the sum Le 150 M; money meant for payment of compensation to inhabitants of Magbema Chiefdom and part of Masungbala, in the Kambia District.

Findings have revealed that the sum of Le 150 M was paid to people of Magbema and Masungbala Chiefdoms by CSE Construction Company as compensation for use of their lands as excavation sites to blast granite stones.

The excavation sites, according to findings, are found in the Matham and Kabaya communities.

By the aforestated, this press received a letter from an organization called Movement for the Welfare of the Deprived Communities dated 2nd June 2009.  The letter unambiguously called on the Paramount Chief of Magbema, the officer in charge SLRA Kambia and the Chairman Kambia District Council to explain reasons for not bringing to the beneficiaries, the Le 150 M rewarded to them for the use of their lands as a quarry.

Unconfirmed information explains how Hon. Ibrahim Sorie was at the fore to cause the distribution of the Le 150 M rewarded to inhabitants of Magbema and Masungbala Chiefdoms by CSE Construction Company.

The money was allocated as below:
25 million to PC Bai Farama Bubu Ngbak,
20 million to the Director General SLRA Muda Rogers, and
20 million to the District Chairman and his Deputy.

Civil Society Organizations, to wit, Movement for the Welfare of the Deprived Communities and others, have on numerous occasions submitted letters of complaint to officials of government, informing them of the uncalled for conduct of Hon. Ibrahim Sorie and others forenamed, but nothing has come out of it.

A letter alleged to have been written to the office of the Ombudsman, complaining of all suspected persons, has reached this press and will be published in our succeeding edition.

Efforts to get comments from SLRA Munda Rogers, Hon. Ibrahim Sorie, and others named, proved futile.
