Ten refuse asset declaration
The new Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) boss Joseph F Kamara said ten personalities in Government that are Minister’s and parliamentarians refuse to comply with the president’s call on asset declaration which tells the Commission about the properties and money that they earned and to also know how they became whilst in power.
Among these Ministers and parliamentarians are: Mr. Joseph Koroma Minister of Presidential and Public Affairs who is also the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Dr. Dennis Sandy Minister of Lands Country Planning and Environment, Dr. George John Komba Kono Minister of State in the Vice President’s office, Mr. Sylva Basuppa Gobba Deputy Minister of Lands, Country Planning and Environment Mr. Moijeh Kaikai Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Security, Mr. Sylvester .L. Usmond Hances Deputy of Transport and Alliance Hon. Momoh Pujehun, Hon. Dr. Morie B. Kamanda, Hon. Babatunde Lewaly and Dr. Moses Sesay.
The commission would like the Ministers, Honorable and all Sierra Leoneans to know that section (119) (1) of the Anti Corruption Commission Act say’s that all government workers after three months in office must declare their properties and section 122 on the same Act say’s that any government worker who refuses to declare their assets and other things that are beneficiaries to them whilst in power are committing an offence against the law and it is liable to a fine of twenty million Leones (Le 20,000,000) or a year jail sentence.

I WOULD LIKE THE GOVERNMENT OFFICERS TO RECOGNIZE THE NATURAL FACT THAT ALL OF THEM (INCLUDING THE PRESIDENT) ARE OUR EMPLOYEES THAT IS WHY WE PAY THEM. THIS GIVES US THE RIGHT (WITH A QUALIFIED MAJORITY) TO KICK OUT ANY ONE – ANY TIME.
25th September 2010SO, ANY SIERRA LEONE GOVERNMENT OFFICER REFUSES ‘ASSET DECLARATION’ HAS SIGNALED TWO MAIN IDEAS WHICH DO NOT, AND WILL NEVER MATCH WITH US. ONE, HE HAS TOLD US THAT HE IS VERY HIGH ENOUGH TO TALK TO PEASANTS. TWO, HE WANTS TO ACT AS A REACTIONARY-AUTHORITARIAN.
THUS, TO CRACK DOWN THE KAKATOWAS OF CORRUPTION, YOU PEOPLE MUST DO ALL YOU CAN, TO BRING ANY AMOUNT OF FORCE TO FORCE THESE TEN PEOPLE TO COMPLY WITH THE LAW.

What is surprising to me is that all these guys have already been in office beyond the stipulated three months and the ACC comes out with a reminder. They should either be slammed with fines or sent to jail as the law stipulates. Then we will know that the ACC as teeth that bite, otherwise, na just the same soup.
