Friday is Eid–Ul-Fitr

Friday, 10th September, 2010 will be the first day of Eid-Ul- Fitr in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it was announced late Wednesday.

Quoting a Supreme Court statement, the Saudi Royal Court said in a radio and television announcement that “as nobody sighted the Shawwal moon on Wednesday evening, Thursday, 9th September will mark the end of Ramadan and Eid -Ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday.”

Meanwhile, as Sierra Leoneans resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia set to celebrate the Muslims’ feast, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has congratulated all Muslims on the occasion and thanked his nationals for the four weeks prayers offered for the nation during the Ramadan at the Chancery building in Riyadh.

It would be recalled that Ambassador Wusu B. Munu called on all his nationals resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia  a day before the Ramadan  to use the holy month to pray for the progress, prosperity, sustainable peace, development, unity and peaceful co-existence in Sierra Leone.
