“Looking at the amount of items donated at every Mosque, the number of donation is not so big, thinking of the number of Muslims in the country but we hope the donation can be utilized as much as possible to improve service to the people during this Holy month and beyond,” said Keith Tukei – Zain’s Commercial Director.

Keith Tukei explained, the donation distributed by Zain will be used by each mosque to, for instance, adequately dress Muslims who can not afford to buy dress for the ‘Prayer day’, to cook food for those who sleep in the mosque for the ten days, to cook for the Muslim community in the area, to even establish a good relationship between the Mosque and their respective communities.

He added, aside from CSR activity in the form of charity program, to welcome Ramadan and Idul Fitri, Zain also offered Muslims nation-wide the opportunity to stay in touch with fellow compatriots. This was done through the Happy Wednesday Promotion. Every Wednesday during the month of Ramadan, Zain subscribers were offered unlimited calls from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. The enrollment to this offer only cost them 100 units.
