3-day Communication Training for Police and Prisons
Three-day training for the Sierra Leone Police and the Prisons Department has been conducted by the Justice Sector Development Programme at the Police Officers Mess, Kingtom.
In an exclusive interview with the trainer, Alfred .B. Mansaray he said the short term course was facilitated by the Justice Sector Development Programme (JSDP) in order to capacitate the media unit of both institutions.
He further disclosed that the training was all about photography, as there are certain officers in the media unit who don’t know how to operate some digital cameras and the meaning of short and long ranges.
Expanding on the importance of picture, Alfred .B. Mansaray revealed that the training will focus on picture taking as an historic property in all aspect as live picture tells the story more.
Moreover, Mr. Mansaray disclosed to Sierra Express Media that there are other facilities to come for both police and prisons soon, as the participants will surely implement what they have learnt to their colleagues at other level.
One of the participants from the Sierra Leone Police, Inspector Isatu Jalloh expressed her gratitude to Justice Sector Development Programme (JSDP) for providing them such an opportunity as what they have learnt will be implemented to all interested members of the two institutions.
In his keynote address, officer in charge of training in the Sierra Leone Police Force, Chief Superintendent Nabieu admonished all participants to execute what has been imparted on them in to good use.
