With Zain, it’s truly a wonderful world!
Zain Sierra Leone over the years has proven to be a world class telecommunications company and as a result has continually made the world of communication a wonderful one for its numerous subscribers.
Since its inception, Zain has been a benchmark for other players in the industry and the company has built on this completion, furthermore, used it to devise strategies that have constantly consolidated its No.1 position in the Sierra Leonean market.
In 2000, Zain started operations in Sierra Leone and since being the first GSM Company in Sierra Leone, the company has maintained the lead in covering the largest part of the Sierra Leonean territory and even beyond. To date, the company can be proud of covering over 80% of the Sierra Leonean territory, serving the majority of Sierra Leoneans to alleviate their telecommunications and internet connectivity needs. Zain therefore stands out among the rest for coverage.
In recent developments, Zain has emerged as the most innovative telecommunications company in terms of products and services and also for voice clarity and connectivity. This has been justified by subscribers and according to Henry Bucknor (subscriber number 078 622908), a Data Processing student of Njala University, ‘My needs as an IT student can only be adequately met by Zain; with this company’s wireless internet, I am at ease with my web designs and hosting anywhere I choose to.’
Over the years, Zain has made it possible for many Sierra Leoneans to be part of the rapid movements and improvements in a trendy communications world so that we in Sierra Leone don’t look any less sophisticated than the average American or European out there in terms of telecommunication needs. The advent of Blackberry, Zap, Web2SMS, wireless internet and so on, all operating within the One Network justifies this statement. All the products and services named here are only with Zain in Sierra Leone.
Over the years Zain has been known for the huge strides it makes in giving back to the communities where it operates through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. With this scheme, Zain had complemented the Government of Sierra Leone’s strides in creating educational facilities for Sierra Leonean pupils. This has been done through the ‘Build Our Nation’ scheme. Zain also donated over ten toll-free lines to the Sierra Leone Police. These are to be used as crime watch lines to abate crime and violence in the City. Zain has also been involved in a number of donations to the University of Sierra Leone and Njala University. All geared towards enhancing a perfect learning environment for Sierra Leoneans. With the Zain Africa Challenge shown on our screens, Sierra Leoneans could agree with me that Zain’s CSR activities are all geared towards the future of Sierra Leone.
With the just completed World Cup in South Africa, Zain realistically sent five notable subscribers to South Africa to watch the finals. This was evident by all media houses.
The tariff system in Zain is one that has elated many subscribers. The Fambul Tariff is billed per second and with this, you can call for as low as 0 units per minute and as high as 9 units per minute. Calling other networks with the Zain SIM will be charged at 19 units per minute, instead of 28 units.
With all the above, it could be seen that with Zain, it’s such a ‘Wonderful World’.
