Nigerian CEO fined Le185m

Freetown Magistrate Court No.3 presided over by Magistrate Bankole Shyllon yesterday fined a Nigerian national, Peter Yillah, the Chief Executive Officer of Wealth Builders Network the sum of one hundred and eighty five million leones (Le 185 million).

He was charged to court on eight count charge of engaging in financial activities without a license.

According to the indictment sheet, the incident took place on a date unknown between the 18 November 2009 and the 22nd June 2010 as he operating an organization called Wealth Builders Network in some major towns and cities in the country, including Western Area, Koidu town (Kono), Makeni, Mile 91, Port Loko, Bo and Kenema without legal licenses

After being at the Pademba Road Prison for over a month on the same charges without pleading guilty, the same charges were on Friday put to the accused again by engaging in illegal financial activities without license.

It was there and then that the accused pleaded guilty on all eight courts and was eventually fined the said amount.
