ProCredit Bank in lawlessness… 6 workers charged for theft

Stanlyn Kemoh, Yira Moseray Gheronka, Molai Kamara, Sheku Sheriff, Chernor Abdulai Jalloh and Michael Muctaru Lebbie all workers at the ProCredit Bank will today make their first appearance in court for house breaking and larceny. According to said workers their action came on as a result of the orders of the bank to break into and cart away with properties belonging to one of their customers.  This finding was carried out by the said people without police approval.

On Tuesday the 13th April 2010 at Lumley Beach Road, they are alleged to have broken and entered into the dwelling house of Theresa Turay and stolen various household items.

According to source the compliant Theresa Turay received an amount of Ten Million Leones Loan at Pro Credit Bank and she repaid 8.7 million and remained owing a balance of 1.3 million Leone but due to her delay to pay the balance, the Bank workers took the law into their hands saying the loan is for a period of twelve months and had expired on the 12th February 2010, and that their action is as a result of orders given to them by the bank.

The ProCredit Bank workers were granted police bail and will make their first appearance today in court. The bank officials though have accepted that the six workers were acting on behalf of the Bank but refused to answer to further questions on the issue on the grounds that the matter is already under police investigation and has now been charged to court.

Reports have it that the Bank on many occasion has been found wanting for such spurious moves that often render their vulnerable customers powerless even though they often do so without police approval or presence.
