Med Kay Urges Citizens to Register to Vote

The Giant of the East, as he is commonly called, Mr. Mohammed Kamara aka Med Kay, who happens to be the Eastern Region Chairman in the Western Area Urban District (WAUD) for the Sierra Leone main opposition political party, All Peoples Congress (APC), has urged and encouraged citizens across the four cardinal points of the country to come out in their numbers to register with the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), so that they would be in better position to vote out the oppressors, President Julius Maada Bio and his  cabal.

Speaking to Sierra Express Media in Freetown, Med Kay entreated citizens to not only register and relax, but must also ensure that the information they collect from them during the registration exercise are verified correctly and their voters Identity cards collected from the ECSL officials, whenever they are told to do so by ECSL.

Mr. Kamara therefore admonished eligible citizens to have their ID cards in possession, because it’s the final resort and the only way to elect their representatives for the Presidential downwards to Mayors or District Chairpersons, Parliamentarians, Councilors and Village headmen respectively.

The Giant of the East further maintained that there would be provisions to guide People With Disabilities (PWDs), especially the visually impaired and physically challenged, to enable them register, emphasizing that the APC stakeholders would make sure that the registration process is well monitored, so that nobody would be left out.

“APC is very strong, determined and committed to come back to power come 2023”, he stated, and expressed thankfulness to both the outgoing and incoming executive of the party.

Mr. Kamara made it very clear that there are challenges among members of the party, and described those challenges as test cases, which any meaningful political party might always experience in this part of Africa and the world at large.

Mr. Kamara sensitized that the prevailing power struggle in the APC shows how important and serious is the administration of the party to take leadership from the misdirected Paopa government by next year.

The political icon continued to assure citizens that as soon as the lower level elections are over, APC would forever remain the trusted political party with the might, wisdom and united forces to govern this country well and according to the dictates of our law books.

Mr. Kamara emphasized that the APC is doing well as a grassroots party, and spoke about the exemplary manner in which the party is still receiving trustworthy membership from different political and social gathering.

“Since people are not leaving, but coming to join the party, we as party stakeholders are very much happy over such positive development, as it demonstrates the amount of determination the party has developed to take leadership and remove our people from the prevailing acute hunger and abject poverty”, he told reporters.

Mr. Kamara deliberated that the concern of the APC stakeholders was to make sure that they did all what they could in terms of using all the necessary communication channels to ensure citizens were well sensitized to see reason why they must register to relieve the country from the existing uncontrollable modern bondage or mental slavery in our mother land of Sierra Leone, and dilated that the registration exercise is much more important than the election day.

Furthermore, the Political Giant of the East called on Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad to use their influences to talk to each other on the essence to register and to vote for the candidates of their choice, freely and fairly without fear or favor.

He humbly appealed to all stakeholders in the APC that the party is the only option after the failure of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Government to fix the economy, as Maada Bio promised in their 2018 unfulfilled manifesto.

Kamara encouraged citizens to register in their Wards and constituencies to avoid troubling themselves to look for transportation to travel to the provinces to cast their ballots.

In his conclusion, Med Kay reiterated that the party would fully monitor the registration process to make sure the amount of people who will be registered per registration centre are recorded in the APC data base on a daily basis, throughout the one month registration period.
