Samura Kamara Touches Lives In Kambia
With the recent surge in COVID – 19 cases in Sierra Leone and other parts of the world, the APC 2023 flag bearer hopeful, Dr Samura Kamara, has continued his nationwide COVID – 19 sensitization and provision of millions of Leones cash support to vulnerable Sierra Leoneans.
Dr. Samura Kamara was accompanied by his former running mate and current Leader of the Opposition APC in Parliament, Hon Chernor Maju Bah, former Minister of Agriculture, Dr Joseph Sam Sesay, and his campaign team headed by popular political activist, Lansana Fadika and APC Members of Parliament who have already declared their support for his candidacy.
The APC Party Office in Kambia town was agog with activity and a resounding welcome by party supporters which was characterised by traditional drumming and dancing. The enthusiasm in display was a vivid endorsement of the man believed to be the fittest to once again lead the APC to the polls in 2023.
Dr. Samura Kamara lamented over the devastating impact of the Corona Virus on the grassroots and encouraged them to abide by the (WHO) safety measures. He also encouraged the APC family in Kambia District to bury their grievances and said the party must prioritize unity and extol the virtues of hard work and resilience as a sure way of taking the APC back to State House. *”Our party is at the crossroads and we cannot afford to be enemies because we are in competition with each other. Go and talk to your people to come and join me so we can all work together for victory”*
Just as he opened his speech, Dr Samura ended his address with a popular Christian rendition, “Have Faith in God”
Speaking earlier, Hon Chernor Bah and Dr. Sam Sesay said they do not believe the APC has enough time to chose and sell another Presidential candidate to the electorate ahead of the 2023 elections. To this end, they reiterated their commitment to fully support Dr. Samura Kamara and called on other APC party flag bearer candidates to do same. Speaker after speaker expressed similar sentiments adding that Samura Kamara has done so much work in keeping alive the party support base and has tremendously enhanced his popularity across the country.
Other notable personalities present at the Kambia event were Former Ambassador to the Belgium and the European Union, Hon Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, former Youth Minister and APC Youth League President, Hon Bai Mahmoud Bangura, former Minister of Tourism, Hon Sidi Yaya Tunis.
