Lower Koya Chiefdom Revamps Football

Speaking to reporters during the one day sport gala between Koya United and Mile 38 FC at their practicing field, Mile 38 Checkpoint, the Secretary General for Koya FC United, Abdul Rasheed Conteh maintained that the Koya Chiefdom is divided in to Upper and Lower sections.
He stated that the match was organized to tap potential young players who will move the team to premier level, adding that with the intervention of stakeholders of Lower Koya, Football will actively return to normalcy.
He said the gala competition would be decentralized to all the eighteen (18) sections within Lower Koya Chiefdom to bring smile to all Football loving fans.
Mr. Conteh further elaborated that they wanted to get a division team like the Upper Koya through effective training, adding that he was happy that young players have stand firm to ensure the lost glory of Football in the Chiefdom regained.
Mr. Conteh affirmed that he was also overjoyed when he saw parents supporting their children for the growth of the game and he therefore encouraged young people to be part of the process. He assured that Lower Koya Chiefdom will fly higher in the next few years in the Football arena.
In his statement, the Member of Parliament for Constituency 073, Koya Chiefdom in Port Loko District, Hon. Ahmed Samba Turay maintained that he has been in the process of transforming the Lower Koya Football for a very long period, but he said the outbreak of the Ebola Virus in the country reveres everything.
Adding that to demonstrate his passion of uplifting Football activity in the deprived chiefdom, he had registered for Division two at the Waterloo Rural District, adding that Football supposed to play excellently at Koya because, he said it is very close to Freetown.
The MP said he did not only focuses on revamping Football but also engaged on building schools, giving grants and providing seedlings for farmers, adding that if many involve in agriculture, hunger will be a thing of the past for the fact that he said, Sierra Leone is made up of minute population.
He encouraged young players to prove themselves by displaying talents because according to him, they cannot buy a proprietor but the player himself.
He discussed that he loved Football because it is the fastest growing economy in the world adding that he is a member of the premier league and Western Rural Football Association. He discussed that Upper Koya is under Port Loko while stating that the Lower Koya Chiefdom is playing under Western Rural District and admonished players that they can only become good with effective training.
He called on Football stakeholders in the Chiefdom to be courageous for the good of the game and appealed to Sierra Leoneans to go stadium and watch local Football to inspire young players and popularize the game.
