Bollore Sierra Leone Observes 5th Marathon

Bollore Transport and Logistics Sierra Leone has on Sunday 20th September 2020 ended their 5th Marathon of 5 km run, walk and circling in Freetown.

Addressing journalists in their edifice, Queen Elizabeth II Quay, Cline Town in Freetown, Country Manager, Bollore Transport and Logistics Sierra Leone, Fabjanko Kokan disclosed that they are performing the 5th edition marathon worldwide and they are contributing with their participation not only in Sierra Leone but with the global marathon and the fund they collected to each of their staff will be donated to UNICEF and other charitable organizations.

He said the essence of the marathon is that they always consider humanity first in all their work across the globe as they always think about solidarity and it is part of their lives. He said “In view of the current circumstances and conditions and difficulties we are facing, I am very impressed with the participation of all stakeholders and their participation. Our solidarity, we want to share with all our contributions to the less privileged. Each Bollore staff worldwide is contributing 5 Euros and all will be sent to a global fund account which will be transfer to any charitable organization.”

Mr. Kokan went on to say that he is grateful to their partners and staff over the years amidst other challenges. He continued that they have been helping several other charitable institutions with the fund collected across the globe, adding that the global headquarters of Bollore is yet to decide where this year’s fund will be used or sent to. “Amidst this Covid-19 pandemic, I can’t tell you where the money will be sent to. The difference in this year’s marathon, we all wear mask, keep distance from each other and we are running, walking and circling in our compound due to Covid-19 and we will have a global Virtual meeting online after the marathon.” Mr. Kokan noted.

Administrative Manager, Bollore Transport and Logistics Sierra Leone, Letitia Williams, expressed her gratitude to Bollore and her hardworking staff for being supportive to her over the years. She maintained that the marathon event is very unique as it brought them together in unity. She proudly disclosed that “I always enjoyed the marathon event as it gives you the opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues from different department whom sometimes you hardly meet them in person due to division of labour.”

Event Ambassador, Darrell Coker said the event always brought them together to strengthen their relationship with each other. He furthered that what they are observing in Freetown Sierra Leone is also replicated in over 100 countries across the world where Bollore Transport and Logistics is operating. He expressed his gratitude to the management and staff of Bollore for their support in ensuring that the event became success.
