2 Docked for Impersonating Minister
Magistrate Hanna Bonnie of Court No. 1, Pademba Road, Freetown on Wednesday 7th April, 2019 refused bail to two female accused persons, namely, Sidiratu Kamara and Aminata Kamara for impersonating the North-East Resident Minster.
The two accused persons were before the court on eight count charges.
The charges range from conspiracy to defraud to obtaining money by false pretense contrary to law.
The particulars of offence stated that the two accused on Monday 18th March, 2019 at 9:00 hours at Mena Hill, Makeni in the Makeni judicial district, northern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired with other persons unknown to defraud Osman Barrie the sum of one million Leones worth of orange electronics money, property of Osman Barrie by purporting to be Resident Minister, North-East, Honorable Abu Abu Koroma.
The two accused were refused bail on the basis that witnesses were available.
The matter was prosecuted by Inspector IG Fofanah while the accused were represented by lawyer MS Sesay.
