Dubiously Selling State Land in Sierra Leone

Corruption Stinks At Lands Ministry

Reports reaching Sierra Express Media indicate that there is massive corruption in the Ministry of Lands Country Planning and the Environment as some staff of the ministry are going about using the names of the Minister, Dr. Dennis Sandy (in photo) and his deputy to dubiously sell state land.

According to reports, two dubious staff in the ministry, whose names are withheld for the time being, are moving about intimidating lawful leaseholders of state lands, take their lands and in turn sell to the private markets for thousands of dollars. These two men, our report furthered, will often tell lease holders that the minister has terminated their lease and will use underhand tactics to either extort money from them in the guise of reinstating the lease or sell to a third party if a bribe is not paid.

Residents of the Regent, Hill Station, and Grafton areas have mostly been the victims of the criminal enterprise of these crooked men.

If the Minister of Lands, Dennis Sandy is to succeed at the Ministry of Lands, he needs to open his two eyes on the activities of some of his staff at the ministry who are hell bent on dragging his name to the mud. Citizens are calling on the Minister of Lands to watch them closely or very soon these land crooks will lead him and staff of the Ministry to the ACC!
