Port Loko Residents Call for the Removal of SDO David C. Conteh
The indigenes of Port Loko District Council under the supervision of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has called on the Government of Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio to withdraw the service of the Senior District Officer, David C. Conteh for what they described as his alleged failure to leave in peace and harmony with the said residents.
Mr. Conteh is not only accused of harassing and neglecting essential staff of the council but also labeled as having no regard for anybody in the whole district.
The SDO also alleged of harassing Regent Chief for Goats, palm oil and other essential agricultural produce during the crowning ceremony at Magbamgbara village.
According to investigation, Mr. Conteh’s Deputy Secretary who is a young man also succumbed to his molestation adding that he is not love among staff for his habit of using abusive languages against them on a daily basis.
The most disheartening aspect of the SDO, he molested even the Chiefdom Police Officers because his political affiliation as he claimed publicly of being a strong member of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Part (SLPP) despite that he acquired the job since the previous led Government of former President Koroma of the All Peoples Congress (APC).
Mr. Conteh also accused of behaving abnormally at any time he was approached by peaceful citizens to discuss on relevant national issues alleging that he is using the Government official vehicle supplied him for unofficially purposes like the conveyance of charcoal and creatures he got from poor farmers in the district.
Contacting the SDO who is accused of not having cordial relationship with the media to respond on allegation leveled against him, he said he could not spoke to either a Journalists or human rights activist on any allegation and bragged that he is unshakable because he has the backing of the SLPP Government.
