Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Hon Chief Justice, Hon Justice Vivian Solomon said, under the leadership of the Hon Chief Justice, Hon Mr. Justice Abdulai Hamid Charm, the Judiciary of Sierra Leone has embarked on an efficient and effective case management system, access to justice; respect for the rule of law, judicial accountability and transparency and the protection of the rights of all persons.

Expressing appreciation to the President and members of the Sierra Leone Bar Association, Hon Justice Solomon said, the leadership of the Judiciary is pleased to receive from her association fully computerized sub treasury with scanning machine, photocopier and printing facilities for the court. Noting that the support will greatly assist in the expedition of justice and the reduction of time to  file processes in court.

The Hon Justice said, since its inception in 2011, the Court has grown with two fully automated courts in use with three sitting Judges at all times thereby reducing the workload. She said the leadership of the FTCC has implemented various tools among which is the tracking tools which show the commencement to the conclusion of each matter. “This I can assure you has greatly assisted delivery of justice and matters are now expedited”. She noted.

Acknowledging the President of the Bar, Hon Justice Solomon revealed that the Sierra Leone Bar Association under her leadership, has been very supportive not only to the FTCC but other courts; among which is the provision of dust bins among others for the main Law Court Building and the Pademba Road Court and the provision of courtroom furniture for the Ross Road Court. “We are hopeful that similar supports will be replicated at the Waterloo Court”. The Justice appealed.

In her statement, the President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association said, her Association and the Judiciary of Sierra Leone are equally committed to effective and expeditious delivery of justice for all and at all times, and that the Bar will continue to support the reform programs of the Judiciary as and when necessary. Commenting on the sub treasury, the President said, the sub treasury will ease the pressure on the filing process and aid expeditious trials of matters before the Court.

The program was climaxed with the Hon Justice Solomon cutting the tape which signifies the official opening of the sub treasury at the Fast Track Commercial Court. The event was witnessed by Judges of the Fast Track Commercial Court, representatives of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), executive members of the Sierra Leone Bar Association and the media.
