Congratulations His Excellency President Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio

AWOL joins Sierra Leoneans in congratulating newly-elected President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, His Excellency Rtd Brig Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) upon winning the Presidential Run-off Election of 31st March 2018.

Hearty congratulations also to our SLPP members in AWOL.

To our All People’s Congress (APC) members, especially Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, Hon Chernor R. M. Bah and Ministers, members of NGC, C4C and CDP, we say take heart. You are all still part of the government as the opposition.

The good thing is that throughout these elections we have all tried to maintain the neutrality of AWOL as an apolitical organisation, thanks to the leadership under Amb. Anthony Navo Jnr.

We must all consider ourselves as winners because we are one family.

AWOL will always remain apolitical and loyal to the green, white and blue, and we will continue to complement the efforts of the government of the day (regardless of which party is in power) in nation building.

Above all, we congratulate the people of Sierra Leone for their contribution in ensuring a peaceful election, and we take this opportunity to condemn all forms of violence and intimidation against innocent people, personnel of the security forces and members of the APC and urged the authorities to halt these ugly post-election incidents.

Meanwhile, we wish the new government all the best and we hope the opposition will remain united and focus, all in the interest of our beloved Sierra Leone.

God bless AWOL!

God Bless Sierra Leone!

God bless us all!

Signed: Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, Secretary General, AWOL
