56 Clique Boys Granted Bail

Fifty-six clique members, who were recently arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters in Freetown on Wednesday 21st February 2018, have been remanded by magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No 1 in Freetown.

The first accused Amara Kamara, alias Sesay was charged with the offence of wounding with intent contrary to section (35) of the offence against persons act of 1861, on Friday 26 January 2018 at 104 Campbell Street in the Freetown, Amara Kamara wounded Inspector Sayoh Samura with intent to murder him,

While fifty four accused including Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, alias Sheik pleaded guilty to one court charge of riotous conduct and disorderly behavior,

The indictment indicated that the accused committed the said offence on the same Friday 26 January 2018 at 104 Campbell Street in Freetown,

The first accused Amara Kamara, who is on a separate charge, had no legal representation when he was docked. But the other accused persons were represented by a battery of legal luminaries headed by lawyer E.T. Koroma.

Magistrate Bangura granted bail to all the accused persons, with one million Leones each or face three months in jail.
