November 13, 2017 – The main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Publicity Secretary, Lahai Lawrence Leema will today Monday 13th November 2017 faces the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over an alleged trespass, public misconduct and riotous behavior orchestrated by him against the country’s public broadcaster, Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) in the early hours of Monday 6th November, 2017.

According to a letter from the Sierra Leone Police, Leema will be accompanied by four other SLPP members to the CID Headquarters today to answer to complain of alleged riotous conduct, assault, trespass amongst others made against him by the management of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

According to allegations, Leema on Monday 6th November stormed the premises of the country’s National Broadcaster uninvited and caused havoc on staff of the institution demanding to be hosted in a program where the former SLPP Flag Bearer aspirant, who is now a member of the ruling All Peoples Congress(APC) Party, Franklyn Rogers had levied allegation on the Sierra Leone Peoples Party presidential candidate, Julius Maada Bio that his mother’s house at Tihun village in Bonthe District was under attack under the instructions of the Bio.

Based on this allegation, Leema was contacted twice on phone to respond as the spokesman of the party but was extremely arrogant which caused the presenter of the program to drop him off the phone for professional reasons. In less than 15 minutes, allegations furthered, Leema stormed the studio bulldozing all security measures put in place by the corporation and caused all sorts of havocs demanding to be hosted at all cost. It is as a result of this misbehavior that the management of SLBC made a complain to the CID and for which he is facing them today 12: 00 noon.
