Constituency 99 endorses Hon. AGK
Ninety-nine percent of Muslims of over Thirty Masjids including Rokupa Central Mosque, Masjid Rahman, Masjid Rashadeen amongst others at Constituency 099 in Portee, Rokupa, and its environs in the Western Urban Area has endorsed their Member of Parliament; if awarded the All People’s Congress APC Party symbol.
They made the promise during a charity program of the reading of the Holy Quran organized by the Member of Parliament Hon. Alimamy G. Kargbo on Saturday 5th August 2017, at Rokupa Gadhafi Central Mosque Wellington, Freetown.
Host Imam Alhaji Osman Bangura thanked the MP for the interest and support he has been providing to the Muslim community among other things over the years.
He lamented on the current status of democracy that politics has transformed from negative to national development which he said before now; politicians were used to buying drugs and alcohol for the youths that has now been transformed to positive aspect of sustainable development.
In his keynote address, Member of Parliament for Constituency 099 Hon. Alimamy G. Kargbo expressed his thanks and appreciation to the community; that despite several rumors, the main purpose of the charity program is to pray and Forster peace and tranquility in the Constituency.
Hon. A G K noted that he decided to organize the charity program and called on Muslims to offer him prayers within their various Masjids disclosing that he has enjoyed high amount of political support from the Muslim community over the years as politics goes with prayers he added.
Hon. AGK further stated that the harmful in take by the youths and other forms of dubious activities to maintain power items of politics is different from him and the only way is to dedicate his concerns and declared his political aspiration for the third term into prayers through the recitation of the Holy Quran.
He cited Sheik Alhaji Osman Bangura, Sheik Yusuf Sesay amongst other people who made him enjoyed his political achievement from the Muslim community promising that if he succeeds his political ambition, he will continue to do more despite the several challenges, he assured.
