Councilor Hajaratu Faith Samura Declares for Constituency 100
In a well-attended meeting on Sunday 23rd July 2017 at the Kuntorlor Community in the East-end of Freetown, the Councilor of Ward 358 in the Looking Town community has informed the people of Black Hand about her intention of becoming the Member of Parliament of Constituency 100.
During her keynote address, Councilor Hajaratu Faith Samura informed the gathering that she want to be the Member of Parliament for that Constituency because it has come to her notice that for too long now the people of Constituency 100 have been deprived from what they are supposed to get from their MP as their MP is getting up to sixty three millions Leones (Le 63,000,000) as constituency development fund but this MP according to her is not doing anything developmental for the constituency.
Councilor Hajaratu F Samura informed members of the APC Party in that constituency about the way they worked very hard to bring the APC party back in governance in 2007.
She went on that she is not a leader full of promises but someone that can give what is the truth to the people. She said that some politicians; when it comes to politicking will give all sort of promises to the that raise the hope of the electorates but when voted in they will not do anything for those that voted for them.
Councilor Hajaratu F Samura told the people of Constituency 100 that her ward is Ward 358 but she has help the people of Constituency 100 by constructing culverts, made significant efforts for the construction of the Jalloh Terrace Road that leads to the Kuntorlor community, Provide Scholarship for school going children whose parents cannot afford to pay their school fees and a lot more.
She confirmed that she had been providing jobs for some youths that are looking for jobs but cannot afford it and that is why she decided to come to the constituency to map out ways to solve some of the challenging needs of the people of constituency 100.
Councilor Hajaratu Faith Samura revealed the fact that competing with her male rivals in politic is something that is very challenging as they faced a lot of intimidation but she is frightened by anyone as she just love the game of politics.
According to latest interviews that were conducted by this reporter to sound the views and opinions of people as to their take on her candidacy, it came out clearly that majority of that constituents believed that she is the most appropriate person that will positively transform the constituency and make it desirable within the country.
This shows that most of the people are satisfied with her selfness pioneering and participation in executing various development projects in different parts in her Ward.
Mr. Osman Kamara a resident of the constituency said that they saw how strong-minded she was in mobilizing support and heightening sensitization all which contributed tremendously towards overcoming the Ebola scourge that seriously engulfed this nation. He also confided that the constituency is in a bad appearance as it is very muddy, full of hardship, lawlessness.
Mr. Kamara added that it is no secret that the present MP at the helm of affairs appears to be doing less in order to expedite various development projects that would have made the constituency a better place to live.
One cannot contest the fact that Councilor Hajaratu F Samura is an icon in her own right who has the innate ability to interact with different sets of people in society and person with God-given ability could be the best to be the Honorable Member of Parliament of Constituency 100 in order to provide the best leadership and bring stakeholders together to reform that Constituency he said.
One Hawanatu Kargbo said that Councilor Hajaratu F Samura has become known in the Constituency than the present Member of Parliament because of her being very vocal in championing various women issues in and out of the constituency which could best describe the reason why she is held in high esteem by the people of constituency 100.
