NATCOM, Africell Connect Wara Wara Bafodia chiefdom

National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM), under its impeccable leadership of Momoh Conteh in collaboration with the nation’s number one telecommunications company, Africell on Thursday 13th July 2017 extended its connection to the Wara Wara Bafodia Chiefdom in Koinadugu district. This connection forms part of NATCOM’s mandate to ensure connectivity in all corners of the country.

In his statement during the ceremony, the Chairman of NATCOM, Momoh Conteh (in photo) thanked Africell for their continued cooperation with the commission in terms of providing services to the nation. He noted that even though it was not easy for them to erect the pole in that particular area, they were able to overcome all the challenges by finally erecting it. He therefore encouraged Africell to continue been cooperative with his commission as he said there are many more connections he will push them to do because he wants to ensure that everywhere in the country is connected. He however encouraged and urged the people of Bafodia chiefdom to take advantage of this opportunity and make good use of it by connecting to the network as well as securing the pole erected.

In another statement, the CEO of Africell, Shady AL-Gerjawi thanked the government of Sierra Leone especially NATCOM for giving them access to operate in the country.  He noted that, even though the erection of the pole was met with a lot of challenges including the accident his workers got in trying to bring the pole in that area that resulted to it been destroyed and which made them to go back and bring another new one,  they still overcame those challenges and erected it. He disclosed that, as part of a way to complement their own efforts, they are offering a free Africell to Africell calls for one month together with 320 mobile phones to the people to be shared in each house in that community. He therefore urged the people to patronize with the company by buying top up cards and using their network.

In their contributions, members of the Wara Wara Bafodia chiefdom thanked Africell and NATCOM particularly the chairman, Momoh Conteh for his immeasurable contributions towards the development of not only their chiefdom but the district and the country as a whole. They disclosed that, the chairman’s new name is now ‘Momoh the Connector’ and ‘Momoh Development’.  They recalled his numerous contributions towards the development of not only their chiefdom, but the district and the country as a whole citing his annual scholarship drive to less privileged children in the district and the country in general, construction of schools, bridges, Tower amongst several others. They therefore assured Mr. Conteh and Africell of making good use of the opportunity brought to them by not only connecting to Africell Network but also serve as security for the pole erected.
