Dr. Binneh Kamara Appointed High Court Judge
His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has nominated 10 new High Courts Judges awaiting approval by the House of Parliament according to law.
The nominees including Dr. Abou Bhakarr Mohamed Benneh Kamara, proposed High Court Judge, Ms. Glenna Thompson-Proposed Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Eldred Taylor Camara-Proposed Justice of the Court of Appeal, Magistrate Manuela A.J Harding-Proposed High court Judge, Col. I.M. Koroma-Proposed High Court Judge, Magistrate Tonia Barnett-Proposed High Court Judge, Ansumana Ivan Sesay Esq.-Proposed high court judge, Jamesina King-Proposed high court Judge, magistrate Alfred Ganda-proposed High Court Judge and Unisa Kamara Esq.-proposed high Court Judge were on Wednesday the 28th of June, 2017 appeared before the Sierra Leone House of Parliament for interview in the Committee Room No. 1 by the Appointment committee based on their Educational background and also to declare their asset.
In responding to questions posed by members of the committee, magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh Kamara assured the committee that if he is to be approved, he will work within the laws of the state adding that, even though some of the laws are old and need to be reformed to work in line with current social trends, he will go strictly by law.
